Terry has been volunteering with Ascot Kayak Club and Paddle WA for 47 years! His volunteering roles include President, Vice President, Magazine Editor, Instructor, Social Paddle Coordinator to name a few.

Terry helps people experience the joy of paddling and WA beautiful waterways.

Mundaring Volunteer Fire & Rescue has becoming a second family for volunteer Toby

For Toby, volunteering with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services as a Volunteer Firefighter has been life-changing, for himself and for the people he’s helped.

He’s been able to save homes and lives. He’s also found himself at the centre of a supportive community of volunteer firefighters.

Marilyn volunteers as a family ambassador, fabbie cabbie, FRoomie, all-around all-star!

Marilynn has been volunteering with Ronald McDonald House Charities since 2015, completing over 2350 volunteering hours since then.

She’s never shy to put her hand up to help out, and she’s touched the lives of many.

Jerome’s family drives an hour to Perth to volunteer with Give Write, an organisation that collects stationery donations and distributes them to disadvantaged students.

He enjoys testing and sorting the different donations that come in, and creating school packs that will change the lives of students across the state.

Reframing Volunteering to Young People: ColdNips x OzFish Collaboration

Cold Nips members joined Volunteering WA and OzFish for a hands-on day caring for WA’s coastline.

The day kicked off with an early-morning dip and volunteers collected seagrass fruit, helping to protect marine habitat and the beautiful Western Australian landscape.

Michael had a lifelong interest in electric trams

As a volunteer with Perth Electric Tramway Society, Michael is a conductor, collects fares on the tram, and then graduated to a Motor Man operating the heritage tramways.

He now shares his passion for railways through volunteering, taking passengers aboard for rides in Whiteman Park.

Kate is gaining work experience through Cat Haven volunteering

Cat Haven volunteer Kate helps take care of their boarding cats and learns valuable skills for future employment as a veterinarian (and getting cat cuddles in!)
