Volunteering WA is seeking an Engagement and Development Coordinator. This role is responsible for providing support and development opportunities to volunteer-involving organisations state-wide, including Volunteering WA member organisations. The Engagement and Development Coordinator will work within the Services Team which includes the areas of Membership and Training.
About the role
This role will ensure that new and existing members are supported throughout their member journey, from initial enquiries and support through to ensuring their continuous professional development needs are met. Building capacity and capability within the volunteering sector are key parts of the work of Volunteering WA and this role contributes to that by ensuring we offer engaged members access to a high-quality training program and by facilitating a vibrant, connected community of volunteer-involving organisations.
Engagement
- Point of contact for existing and new members, ensuring they have a high-quality experience when engaging with Volunteering WA and directing to other relevant staff members, where required.
- Maps membership and development journey on CRM and processes all membership and development related administration.
- Engages with sector to provide expertise and relevant resources in volunteer management and membership benefits.
- Undertakes feedback and evaluation activities and contributes to needs analysis, reporting and promotion.
- Coordinates sector capacity building and information sharing activities such as Information Sessions, Network Meetings, Communities of Practice and Special Interest Group meetings.
Development
- Delivers high quality training via in person, online and pre-recorded delivery methods.
- Reviews existing Volunteering WA materials and resources, updating or producing new content when required.
- Arranges and facilitates sessions with guest speakers and/or subject matter experts.
- Plans, schedules and maintains Volunteering WA’s annual training calendar
- Coordinates the National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Program.
Other
- Keeps up to date with best practice for volunteer management and member engagement in Australia.
- Promotes and contributes to activities, events, and services of Volunteering WA.
- Undertakes other relevant responsibilities as required.
The details
- This is a Permanent position of 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) or 0.8 negotiable
- Level 4 (SCHADS Award) Base Salary
- Plus 12% employer superannuation contribution
- Plus PBI salary packaging of up to $18,549 per year
- 5 weeks annual leave entitlement

About you
You are a confident communicator and facilitator who enjoys building relationships and helping others succeed. You are highly organised, customer-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards.
You will bring:
- Understanding of volunteer management principles and challenges.
- Experience delivering presentations, training, workshops, or information sessions to groups.
- Experience facilitating online learning and engagement activities using platforms such as MS Teams.
- Ability to manage training and education activities from planning through to evaluation.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Special requirements:
- Current and valid WA driver’s licence
- Willingness to travel within the Perth metropolitan area.
- Occasional evening, regional and weekend work as required.
