This project by Albany and Regional Volunteer Service was supported through Volunteering WA’s Volunteer Management Activity, funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.
Albany and Regional Volunteer Service originally worked with an organisation more than 12 months ago to introduce the Ability in Action Inclusive Volunteering Program. Though they were interested in becoming involved, it was not until 2025 that they were able to fully engage in the program.
With a strong commitment to volunteers and the community, the organisation’s Volunteer Coordinator embraced the opportunity to review and strengthen the organisation’s inclusive volunteering practices.
Through the Ability in Action program the organisation explored how it could create more accessible and welcoming opportunities for people with lived experience of disability and mental health challenges
