Volunteer Managers and Coordinators are responsible for leading volunteer programs, and recruiting and managing volunteers.

There are more than 1.5 million volunteers in Western Australia making incredible impact, which could not happen without the volunteer-involving organisations, and Volunteer Managers, Leaders and Coordinators who drive these programs.

International Volunteer Managers Day is celebrated around the world on 5 November each year to recognise the vital role of managers of volunteers for effective volunteering. Established in 1999, it has become a global movement highlighting the vital role of Volunteer Managers in enabling safe and effective volunteering. As the peak body for volunteering in Western Australia, Volunteering WA is proud to support International Volunteer Managers Day.

Every day across Western Australia thousands of paid and unpaid volunteer managers support our State’s 1.5 million volunteers to deliver much needed services that enhance the lives of those in need. Volunteer Managers lead with passion, wisdom and imagination and provide the leadership and direction that allow volunteers to contribute to the community. Without their professional leadership, people’s time, talents and efforts would be wasted.

We invite you to join in the celebrations and help recognise the Volunteer Managers, Coordinators and Leaders who inspire others, drive innovation, and ensure that volunteering remains at the heart of Australian communities.
