Projects and Programs

Helping more people volunteer

Making it possible for more people across Western Australia to give volunteering a go.

Corporate Volunteering Program

Connecting businesses with local volunteering opportunities.

Volunteering WA’s Corporate Volunteering Program connects business with community; by providing valuable and meaningful experiences for corporate volunteers to volunteer their time with Western Australian community groups. Corporate members provide their employees with volunteering leave, which is often tied to their corporate social responsibility priorities and employee engagement goals.

Connecting young people to volunteering

Young people bring fresh energy, new perspectives, and creativity to organisations.

Spontaneous Emergency Volunteering

Supporting people impacted by emergencies.

Volunteering WA developed and operates an Emergency Volunteering Recruitment Platform, which enables people to register their details to become a community helper during the response and recovery stages of an emergency or natural disaster.

Building sector strength, knowledge and capability

Ensuring that volunteer programs across the state are sustainable now and into the future.

Advocacy and Policy Work

Volunteering WA champions the needs and interests of the sector, to local, State and Federal Government.

As the peak body, we convene the Minister for Volunteering’s Community Reference Group providing a direct voice from our members.

Volunteer Management Activity

The Australian Government Department of Social Services’ Volunteer Management Activity is administered through State and Territory volunteering peak bodies in partnership with local community organisations.

The programs allows us to help support the sector to effectively recruit, train, support, and retain volunteers; whilst increasing opportunities for people to volunteer.

Volunteer Positions Directory (VIKTOR)

Whether you’re searching for your next volunteer Treasurer or tour guide roles; or recruiting for event-based volunteers to support beach cleans ups or community projects, VIKTOR ensures you gain maximum visibility. The volunteer search directory brings volunteers and organisations together.

Measuring Change Project

An outcome and impact measurement toolkit for the sector, by the sector.

Impact measurement has become an increasingly essential area of practice for organisations that engage volunteers, but can often be a time-consuming and confusing area of practice.

Volunteering WA has taken action to close this gap with the Measuring Impact project, supported by Lotterywest.
