2026 WHS Awards: Nominations Closing

The WHS Awards recognise individuals, teams, and organisations making a genuine difference in creating safer, healthier work across WA. The Volunteering WHS Award celebrates something close to home for our sector: the work of keeping volunteers safe.

First introduced in 2025, this award reflects a meaningful shift since 2022, when changes to WHS law formally recognised volunteers as workers, allowing volunteers to have the same care and protection as any paid employee.

If your organisation has introduced an initiative, program, or practice this year that’s made a real difference to volunteer safety, this is your opportunity to have that work formally recognised by the WA safety community.

Why nominate?

  • It’s free and takes just a few minutes
  • You don’t need a polished write-up ready today: you can submit your nomination now and send supporting evidence through later
  • It’s a chance to gain recognition for your safety achievements
  • Winners are announced at the WHS Awards Gala, Saturday 14 November 2026 at Crown Perth

Nominations have been extended to Tuesday 29 September, so there’s still time to put forward the people and teams that deserve to be recognised.

With 12 categories available, there are opportunities to recognise a wide range of achievements: from volunteering, health and wellbeing, to workplace diversity and inclusion and more.
