Perth Bushfire update
Volunteering WA, as a member of the WA State Welfare Emergency Committee, takes a role in managing spontaneous volunteers in times of emergency. We also take a role in sorting and managing donations that have been taken to any evacuation centres.
We would like to send a message of support to the community and all response personnel and volunteers from the agencies involved.
We have received an overwhelming number of offers of support from across WA to assist with the clean-up and recovery process following the Parkerville Bushfires. Thank you to everyone who has offered assistance, please be assured that we have collated details of all offers made and this list will be used over the coming weeks and months when more volunteer roles may become available.
Volunteering WA is currently working closely with the Shire of Mundaring who will be coordinating the clean-up process.
As the recovery process starts we ask that volunteers please keep away from the affected area until assistance is requested with the recovery process. It is also important to give families time and space to come to terms with the events of the last week. There are still many hazards to be dealt with and a need to keep traffic to a minimum. This will allow appropriate services to complete their tasks and insurance companies to inspect and assess the damage.
We will shortly contact those who have registered to volunteer.
For updates please visit the Shire of Mundaring website.
Again, thank you for your generous offer of support to those affected by the Parkerville bushfires.
If you are interested in volunteering in future times of emergency then please register your details on our emergency volunteering website and we will keep these on file.

Donations of goods and/or services
**Updated 22 January**
Volunteering WA will no longer be taking details of goods or services that people would like to donate. We are in the process of handing this over to the Shire of Mundaring. If you do have something you would like to donate we ask that you hold on to it at the moment and check the Shire's website from next week onwards for any requests of further donations.
Those that have contacted us previously are thanked for their offer which we will be passing on.
**Updated 22 January**
Volunteering WA will no longer be taking details of offers of accommodation. We have received an overwhelming amount of offers. All previous details taken have been passed over to ADRA on a daily basis and they have been contacting people where required. ADRA is the agency who takes the lead in finding accommodation for those affected by emergencies such as this in Western Australia.
ADRA is now also in the process of handing this over to the Shire of Mundaring. If you do have accommodation that you would like to offer we ask that you wait for the moment and check the Shire's website from next week onwards for any requests of further donations.
We will update our website with more information as and when we know more. You may also wish to visit the Shire of Mundaring website for further information in the coming weeks and months.
