Volunteering WA

500 free volunteer training modules

In keeping with the times, Volunteering Australia has developed an e-learning resource for volunteers, entitled "Be an Effective Volunteer". It is presented in six modules, and takes about two hours to complete. The modules include various topics of interest to potential and current volunteers, including

  • The Rights and Responsibilities of a Volunteer
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Volunteer Grievances
  • Insurance
  • Diversity
  • Time Management

The modules would be ideal for students who would like to learn more about volunteering and how to get involved. It could also be used as an induction tool for a volunteer or a small group of volunteers, making it ideal for volunteering organisations.

Volunteering WA are pleased to announce that we have purchased 500 training places on this module to offer to our member organisations for free. Those interested in taking up this offer should contact us using our online contact form stating how many places they would like for volunteers. We will then get back in touch with you for registration details. Priority will be given to financial members if demand is greater than 500.

For more information please contact our Training and Development Manager, Martha Barnard-Rae, on 9482 4310.

Our thanks go to the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) for enabling us to make this offer.
