We invite you along to a special introduction session where you can learn more about Volunteering WA and the work we, the volunteering sector in WA, meet other similar organisations and take part in a focus group at the end.

You will also be introduced to VWA staff and learn how they can assist you in your role.

This session is for organisations who are funded through the Department of Local Government and Communities and includes a special focus group session where you can let us know what we can do to assist you and your organisation in the future.

This session is free.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT FOR VOLUNTEER MANAGERS – Level 2

time: 09:30 to 16:00 location: City West Lotteries House, 2 Delhi Street, West Perth

The HRM series is specialised volunteer manager training and is divided into three levels. This is the second in the series (note, the three levels can be done in any order).

This one day session builds on VWA’s Basic Training: “Key Issues” and “National Standards” and Human Resource Management level 1 and will cover:

  1. Supporting volunteers in the workplace

  2. Communication skills to build and maintain relationships with your volunteer workers who present communication challenges, and facilitate discussions  

  3. Establish effective workplace relationships by collecting, analysing and communicating information

  4. Promote team effectiveness, performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to promote teamwork.  This involves developing team plans to meet expected outcomes, leading the work team, and proactively working with the management of the organisation  

  5. Identify risk and apply established risk management processes  

  6. Continuous improvement 

Pre-requisite:  Attendance at VWA’s Key Issues” and “National Standards” basic training is preferred, but not required.

COST: $110 (inc GST) for financial members of Volunteering WA / $154 (inc GST) for non-financial or non-members.
