Visiting Volunteers Program
Make your next holiday an unforgettable experience!
The Visiting Volunteers program assists regional West Australian communities by providing voluntary support to enable various projects and programs to be completed within those communities. The program encourages travellers to add an extra dimension to their trip through lending their own unique skills and services to become a real part of the community, and to be rewarded with an unforgettable travel experience.
The range of volunteering opportunities available is extremely diverse, and there is something for everyone! The opportunities should appeal to all interests and range from providing assistance at regional festivals and events, restoring historic artifacts in museums, taking photographs, being a mentor to children in remote schools, or being involved in environmental and conservation projects.
Support of Local Government and Regional Development Commissions is the key element in the advancement of the Visiting Volunteers program. Funding from the State Government through the Department of Local Government and Regional Development has resulted in an increase in the number of volunteer opportunities being offered.
Recruitment of volunteers and the listing of volunteer projects continue throughout the year. Volunteering WA provides the professional support and expertise to assist local government, community groups and visiting volunteers.
