Matthew Rutter - Chair
Matthew has 10 years of commodity trading and marketing experience. As Global Head of Trading for farmer cooperative, the CBH Group, Matthew is directly responsible for the group’s multi-million dollar grain trading and pooling activities. With solid roots in WA agriculture, Matthew brings industry leading expertise in trading, finance and treasury, risk management and market development.
Dr Ian Fairnie
Ian is the Dean of Community Life at Curtin University. In addition to serving on the VWA Board, he is also a Director for Foodbank WA and EdVentures WA, and is a member of the Advisory Group for the Boronia Pre-Release Centre for Women. Ian's recreation interests include the pipe organ, and he has been a church organist since 1966.
Kath Snell
Kath is the Volunteer & Business Development Manager for Volunteer Task Force. With extensive tourism and marketing experience in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, Kath is an avid believer in the power of communication and positive PR. Since moving to Perth from the UK in 2005, she has focused her energy and passion on the development of the volunteering sector in WA.
Paul Lynch
Paul has recently taken on the role of Treasurer and has over 30 years experience in the banking and finance sector with Westpac Banking Corporation. His current role is Head of Commercial Banking leading a team of Commercial Relationship Managers in Perth. Paul has also enjoyed roles with Westpac in Indonesia and more recently Fiji Islands where he ran the bank's corporate banking division.
John Poulsen - Deputy Chair
John is the Managing Partner of Minter Ellison's Perth office. John is also State President of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) Western Australia and a member of the National Board of CEDA. He is also a Member of the WA Council of the Australia China Business Council.
Graham Lovelock - Deputy Chair
Graham has more than 15 years experience as a communications and marketing professional working in the private enterprise, not-for-profit and government sectors. Graham has first-hand experience of the critical role volunteering plays in our community and believes it is one of the linchpins in creating a sustainable, cohesive and successful society.
Peter Clough
Peter has vast experience as a Government Affairs Practitioner (lobbyist) as well as being a member of a number of Disability Services Committees and working groups. Peter would like to promote collective advocacy of the volunteering sector to the public, media and government.
